Visiting Siam Mall Tenerife

You’re possibly wondering why anyone in their right mind would want to visit a mall when they’re on holiday: that’s certainly what my husband wonders every time I drag him to Siam Mall, anyway.

Here’s the thing, though: if you love shopping, you don’t stop loving it when you travel. In fact, if you’re anything like me, you probably love it even more, because it gives you a little bit of insight into life in other countries, as seen through its shops. Or that’s how I’m justifying the money I’ve spent in Siam Mall over the years, for sure.

(If you don’t like shopping, meanwhile, the top storey of the mall has a selection of restaurants and bars which you can make the most of while your other half gets lost in the giant ZARA. And you may be in a mall, but when you’re sitting on the roof, looking out over the ocean, you wouldn’t necessarily know it…)

Seriously, though: it might sound a bit strange, but even my mall-phobic husband quite enjoys a wander around the Hiperdino supermarket here, which, as well as offering a wider choice of products than you’ll generally find in the smaller resort supermarkets, also provides a good source of Spanish foods and confectionary to wonder at: fruits you don’t see at home, unfamiliar cereals, those sweets you always get in Spain, which are packed in a long, vertical strip, hanging next to the registers – you get the idea.

As for me, meanwhile, well, there’s the Best Zara in All the Land. (Note: the one in Playa de las Americas is pretty good, too, just in case you’re taking notes, here…), a super-sized H&M and Mango, plus a number of smaller stores, which you can easily lose a couple of hours wandering around. It’s the perfect place to while away a rainy afternoon: and, as I said, if you don’t care about shopping, well, there’s always cocktails on the roof…

The mall is named after the Siamese kingdom of Thailand, and its architecture is inspired by Thai temples and culture.  There is plenty of free parking and also a free bus, the timetable of which you can find here.

Siam Shopping Mall features over 120 stores, including international fashion and beauty brands, technology and electronics stores, a supermarket, and a variety of restaurants and cafes. Some of the popular fashion brands found in Siam Mall include Zara, H&M, Mango, and Pull & Bear. The mall also has a large multiplex cinema and a children’s play area.

One of the main attractions of Siam Mall is its impressive interior design, with colorful decorations and ornaments inspired by Thai culture. The mall has a large central courtyard, adorned with fountains, sculptures, and exotic plants, providing a relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience.
