Costa Adeje Old Town

Adeje Town is a part of the eponymous municipality of Adeje, which covers an area of about 105 square kilometers and is home to around 47,000 people.

The village of Adeje itself is situated in the foothills of the Tenerife Mountains, at an altitude of about 280 meters above sea level. It has a charming traditional Canarian architecture, with narrow streets lined with white houses, and several historic buildings such as the Church of Santa Ursula, which dates back to the 16th century.  Because of it’s elivated position you get fantastic views from the town, a great place for hotography is here

Adeje is a popular tourist destination, thanks to its warm climate, beautiful beaches, and wide range of leisure activities. Some of the most popular attractions in the area include the Siam Park water park, the Aqualand water park, and the Plaza del Duque shopping center. Additionally, the village is known for its cultural events, such as the Fiestas de la Cruz, which is celebrated in May and involves colorful parades, traditional music, and dancing.

Casa Fuerte de Adeje

Casa Fuerte de Adeje, also known as Fort House of Adeje, is a historic fortification located in the heart of Adeje village in Tenerife, Spain. The fort was built in the 16th century by the Spanish conquistador, Alonso Fernández de Lugo, who was responsible for the conquest of the Canary Islands.

Casa Fuerte de Adeje was designed as a defensive structure, with thick walls, arrow slits, and a moat. The fort was strategically positioned on a hill overlooking the village and the surrounding landscape, which allowed the defenders to see and repel any potential attacks.

In the 18th century, the fort was converted into a residential building and served as the residence of several prominent families in Adeje. The building underwent several renovations and expansions over the years, which added new rooms and decorative elements.

Today, Casa Fuerte de Adeje is a cultural center that hosts art exhibitions, concerts, and other cultural events. The building has been well-preserved and features a mix of architectural styles, including Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque.

Church of Santa Ursula

The Catholic Church in Costa Adjete is called Santa Ursula and it’s a historic church located in the heart of Adeje village on the island of Tenerife, Spain. The church was built in the 16th century and is one of the oldest religious buildings on the island.

The Church of Santa Ursula was constructed in the Mudejar style, which blends Islamic and Christian architectural elements. The church has a rectangular floor plan and is built with volcanic stone and plaster. It features a beautiful bell tower, a nave, and several chapels.

The interior of the church is decorated with beautiful paintings, sculptures, and altarpieces. The altarpiece of the main chapel is particularly noteworthy and is considered one of the most important examples of Baroque art in the Canary Islands.

The Church of Santa Ursula is dedicated to Saint Ursula, a Christian martyr who is venerated in the Catholic Church. The church is still an active place of worship and hosts regular masses and religious ceremonies.
